The Tor

from Hand and Hammer by Ginger Doss

about

A friend of mine handed me a book once and said "This is my Bible..," It was The Mist Of Avalon. When I read it I became engulfed in this familiar story and inspired by the different perspective. This book spoke to me of the veil between the worlds. It awoke the part of me that aches to return to long ago, to become who I was. It made tempting the prospect of looking into time machines. But if I went back I would always have to return again to now and do what I am doing. I know this is an important time....And I know the reason we all choose to be here. We have the key that will save this time.

lyrics

And as I break through the mist
I see the Tor
The worlds are drifting
where is my power

Laughing and dancing at beltane,
I knew it was you by the fire
Where are we now?

In the back of my mind
in the mist beyond time
hangs a veil
to shroud the tale
of lives long past
and it holds me fast

If history repeats itself
maybe it's we who're the same
If her story could be told
maybe the balance of earth could return

Raising a toast
at the renaissance festival, 1989
the sun had gone down and the shops were all closing
the patrons had all but gone home
Slowly the rennies appear in their finery
to run with the wolf and to dance with the moon

Chorus
One world away from the old world and I still feel
If I had a time machine I would try
And I know the reason we all choose to be here
we have the keys that will save this time

And as I go from the Tor I call the wind
To bring us back to this place again
The first time I saw you I felt it
my soul did remember your eyes
Look at us now

I touch your hand
and embrace the land
And I search the sky
for the wings I left behind

If history repeats itself
maybe it's we who're the same
If her story could be told
maybe the balance of earth would return

Raising a toast at the kings feasting table, 1389
the sun had gone down and the torches are burning
We summon the bard to perform
we drink of our wine and our love and our song and
return to our chambers to dance with the moon

Chorus
